Armed conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo

No chim­pan­zees have been moved from the cen­ter des­pi­te the attempt to do so. We are gra­te­ful to the civil autho­ri­ties of the South Kivu pro­vin­ce and to civil society at the envi­ron­men­tal level for their tre­men­do­us support.

At the same time, war is approa­ching the area, although, for the moment, both the staff and the pri­ma­tes are doing well. We are wor­king hard to pro­tect the ani­mals, with 24-hour shifts throughout the week.

From SOS Pri­ma­tes, we hope that pea­ce and tran­qui­lity will soon come to an area that we know is fra­gi­le and that we sup­port with our hearts and souls.
