Nearly 600 species of primates face an uncertain future, with many threatened by human activity. The two projects supported by SOS Primates this year are clear examples.

CRPL, Lwiro Primates, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, cares for orphaned primates affected by bushmeat hunting, the illegal pet trade, habitat loss due to population growth, and ongoing conflict.

At the Jaguar Rescue Center (JRC) in Costa Rica, primates are treated for injuries caused by electrocution from power lines, habitat destruction, and capture for the pet trade.

At SOS Primates, we do our part to help. On September 1st, we were at the Barcelona Zoo sharing information about our work and collecting donations.

We thank the zoo for their support, their staff for their ongoing collaboration, and all the visitors who came to learn more about our work.

In the photos: Olivia, a female baboon before arriving at CRPL, and Fiji, a young howler monkey before arriving at JRC.
