Approximately 600 species of primates face a challenging future. A large portion of these species are threatened by human impact. Without going any further, two of the projects SOS primates supports this year are a clear example: the LPRC, Lwiro Primates, in DRCongo, houses orphan primates from the bushmeat trade, illegal pet trade and habitat loss due to population increase and war.
At the Jaguar Rescue Center (JRC) in Costa Rica, primates that have suffered electrocution at power transmission towers, habitat loss and poaching for illegal pet trade are also housed.
Our NGO attempts to do their share to support them. The past 1st of September we were at Zoo de Barcelona sharing information about our work and fundraising. We thank the zoo for its support and the staff for always collaborating with us, in addition to the guests that came to meet us.
