On Gorilla International Day, we share that one of the centres SOS Primates supports since its creation, the Lwiro Primate Rehabilitation Centre (LPRC), Lwiro Primates, collaborates with the conservation of Grauer’s Gorilla, endemic to DRCongo and a true treasure that must be preserved.

The centre has rescued some orphans, product of poaching, such as Kalonge (pictured), a small female that received its first care in this centre until she was referred to a centre that specialises in gorillas, GRACE Gorillas. There you can see her in a picture with another conspecific, recovering from what she should have never endured from human beings.

To help us continue our work you can order a gorilla figurine made by the disabled women of Heri Kwetu, for a donation of €10 (shipping not included).
