Last Sunday we visited the horse and farm animal sanctuary run by ADE – Asociación de Defensa de los Équidos. It is one of the two refuges the organization maintains thanks to donations and guided visits.

Leonor and Aldo, who manage the sanctuary, gave us an introduction to the project and guided us around the facilities. The refuge currently cares for 43 horses, as well as several donkeys and farm animals rescued from very different situations: abuse, abandonment when they were no longer considered useful, or neglect due to lack of resources and ethical responsibility toward animals.

We also had the opportunity to briefly present our association to the 32 people attending the visit. It was wonderful to see the incredible work carried out by ADE, the large spaces available to the animals, and the evident happiness and care they receive.

If you would like to collaborate with or visit ADE, you can find more information on their website:

We are already preparing for the next visit to another animal rescue center, because animal protection organizations need to support one another.

Thank you to Leonor and Aldo for their warm welcome, to everyone who joined us that day, and to all those involved in organizing the visit, from Shirly, who designed the poster, to Núria and Aurora, who helped coordinate the event.
