A few weeks ago, SOS Pri­ma­tes atten­ded the 10th AICAS Con­fe­ren­ce (Ibe­rian Asso­cia­tion of Wild­li­fe Kee­pers), held at Bio­parc Fuen­gi­ro­la in Málaga.

The event brought together 94 pro­fes­sio­nals from 27 zoo­lo­gi­cal ins­ti­tu­tions, pri­ma­rily from Spain and Por­tu­gal, as well as repre­sen­ta­ti­ves from Fran­ce, Gibral­tar, and Gua­te­ma­la. Con­fe­ren­ces like the­se play a vital role in pro­mo­ting the exchan­ge of know­led­ge, expe­rien­ce, and best prac­ti­ces that ulti­ma­tely impro­ve the wel­fa­re of ani­mals living under human care.

During the con­fe­ren­ce, we had the plea­su­re of mee­ting Kris­ti­na Edwards, SOS Pri­ma­tes’ French trans­la­tor, who gene­rously volun­teers her time and does an outs­tan­ding job sup­por­ting our orga­ni­za­tion. You can see her in the pho­to along­si­de Auro­ra and Raúl as part of the SOS Pri­ma­tes family.

Sin­ce our foun­ding in 2012, AICAS has been a valued sup­por­ter of SOS Pri­ma­tes. Once again, they kindly pro­vi­ded us with spa­ce to host a stand fea­tu­ring our fun­drai­sing mate­rials, hel­ping us rai­se dona­tions for the orpha­ned pri­ma­tes at CRPL, Lwi­ro Pri­ma­tes, inclu­ding Rosie and Elik­ya Busa­ka­ra in the Demo­cra­tic Repu­blic of the Con­go. One of the pho­tos also fea­tu­res mem­bers of the AICAS board together with part of the SOS Pri­ma­tes team.
