Despite movement difficulties caused by the pandemic, 7 infant chimpanzees were rescued by Lwiro Primates, which almost certainly means the death of more than 50 adults by poachers  for bushmeat and the sale of these little ones.

She has arrived at the CRPL wounded, weak, very thin and quite traumatized, as you can see, without trusting the team. We are sure that the care provided at the center will comfort her after having lost her mother and her family group.

Each of these creatures, as well as all the other primate species taken in, is a failure in the conservation of these species.

SOS Primates has continued to support Lwiro Primates, and we will soon be making our annual donation to the centre, with all the donations raised in 2020. If you’d like to join our family of primate protectors, join our Teaming group for only €1 a month.
