Last January, a collaborator of SOS Primates, María, carried 36.3 kg of work equipment donated by the Barcelona Zoo to the Bird of Prey Rehabilitation Center of the NGO Brinzal in Madrid. This center has operated successfully for 35 years and is the only one specializing in this type of bird in Spain.
Brinzal is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving, studying, and rehabilitating biodiversity since 1986. It develops work in the natural environment and biodiversity conservation through various lines, including ecological restoration, environmental education, research, and environmental consulting, all in collaboration with public and private entities.
As you know, SOS Primates manages and sends the material donated by the Barcelona Zoo to wildlife rehabilitation centers. This is the first time we have delivered this material to a center that works with native fauna of the Iberian Peninsula.
We are very pleased that it can contribute to the incredible task of protecting the environment and nocturnal birds of prey, among other birds, which are so necessary for the balance of nature.
In the photos, you can see some of the tasks carried out at the center, as well as María delivering the material.
Many thanks to all those involved (the Barcelona Zoo, Brinzal, and especially María) without forgetting the SOS Primates volunteers who strive every day to help not only primates but all animals entirely altruistically.
If you travel to any of the countries where there are primate or other animal centers and you want to help, do not hesitate to contact us so that we can organize a shipment during your trip.
