News from CPRLLwiro Primates, in the Democratic Republic of Congo:

No chimpanzees have been moved from the center, despite attempts to relocate them. The team extends its gratitude to the civil authorities of South Kivu province and to environmental civil society groups for their tremendous support.

At the same time, the conflict is approaching the area. For now, both staff and primates remain safe. Intensive efforts are underway to protect the animals, with 24-hour shifts operating throughout the week.

At SOS Primates, we hope that peace and stability will soon return to a region we know is fragile, but which we support wholeheartedly.
