The past 14th of July was World Chimpanzee Day, a day only just suggested by recently deceased Dr Jane Goodall to alert about their status of conservation, whose populations are declining as human primate populations increase. As it is us who have lost the balance in coexisting in this planet and with the other living beings in it. We can just look at the unusual situations we are currently living: extreme heat, wildfires or torrential rain, desertification, glacier disappearance, just to cite a few examples. So, in this day, SOS Primates wishes to raise awareness of our actions and their impact.
Using the air conditioner with open windows and doors or having north pole-like temperatures affects chimpanzees such as Kakule, an orphan from LPRC, Lwiro Primates, in the picture; and other primates.
