Even though there are mostly primates in the CRPL, Lwiro Primates (in the Democratic Republic of Congo), this center still helps other species, like the red-tailed parrots. They are confiscated by authorities from poachers who try to send them to the southeast of Asia and sell them through the mafia of illegal animal trade.

The CRPL rehabilitates them and frees them if they are physically and behaviorally prepared for it.

SOS Primates doesn’t approve of keeping these animals as pets, for it condemns the destiny of creatures meant to be free. Even so, there are breeders who follow the rules and adoption alternatives that are more recommendable.

Become a teamer of our NGO, and you’ll help the fauna of the Congo. More information at https://www.teaming.net/sosprimates
