One of the principal dangers for primates is their poaching to consume their meat. The adults are killed, cut to pieces, and smoked ( so their meat lasts longer), often in front of the offspring that have been snatched from their mother.

Because the offspring don’t have enough meat, they are sold in the illegal pet trade.

That happened to this little one that at this moment is in poor condition in the CRPL, Lwiro Primates, in the DRCongo.

From our side of the globe what we can do is not consume this type of meat when we travel to places where primates live and NEVER have or try to adopt a monkey as a pet.

We’ll keep you informed about what we can do to help primates all around the world.

If you contribute to SOS Primates for 1 euro a month through the Teaming platform, you’ll help this and other primates.
