The past month of August a group of 9 people visited Uganda on a tour in which they visited the main national parks of the African country, including Murchison Falls NP, Kibale NP, Queen Elisabeth NP, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest NP, Lake Mburo NP and Kidepo NP.
Two of the members of the expedition are friends with a worker from the Conservation Area of the Barcelona Zoo, who, as you know, gives unused uniforms to the fauna rehabilitation centers, a management organized by SOS Primates.
The group transported 96kg of work equipment to the caretakers of the Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary, which belongs to the Federation of primate sanctuaries PASA: Pan African Sanctuary Alliance. It shelters 52 chimpanzees on the island of Lake Victoria.
This was arranged without charge for our NGO because the equipment allowed by international flights was used, which was picked up by the staff when it arrived at the airport.
In the photo, you can see workers displaying some of the uniforms.
Thank you to all of those involved(Xavi, Elena, Luis, Sònia, Jana, Núria, Maria, Albert, and Camilo) and especially all the volunteers of SOS Primates who dedicate themselves each day to helping primates in an altruistic manner.
If you travel to one of the countries where there are primates or other animal centers, and you’d like to help, don’t hesitate to contact us so we can organize a delivery.
