At SOS Pri­ma­tes we are focu­sed on hel­ping the pri­ma­tes at the Lwi­ro Pri­ma­te Reha­bi­li­ta­tion Cen­tre (LPRC),  Lwi­ro Pri­ma­tes. One day we would like to help as many cen­tres as pos­si­ble, and we are sure that we will suc­ceed. This does not mean that we turn our backs on other ani­mals and other reali­ties that are expe­rien­ced at the CRPL.

That is why we are asking for your help to find a grant pro­gram­me whe­re we can try to rai­se funds for a reha­bi­li­ta­tion faci­lity for the grey parrots that come to the cen­tre. On the right you have a pic­tu­re of a reha­bi­li­ta­ted parrot and on the left the over­crow­ding and poor con­di­tions in which they try to be ille­gally expor­ted for the pet mar­ket. SOS Pri­ma­tes belie­ves that kee­ping the­se ani­mals at home is unethi­cal and inap­pro­pria­te for their wel­fa­re, not to men­tion con­tri­bu­ting to the decli­ne of their popu­la­tions and their extin­ction. For this reason we have con­tac­ted a cons­cien­tious com­pany that usually spon­sors this type of initia­ti­ve, but with the COVID-19 issue, they have stop­ped their scho­larship programme.
