At SOS Primates we are focused on helping the primates at the Lwiro Primate Rehabilitation Centre (LPRC), Lwiro Primates. One day we would like to help as many centres as possible, and we are sure that we will succeed. This does not mean that we turn our backs on other animals and other realities that are experienced at the CRPL.
That is why we are asking for your help to find a grant programme where we can try to raise funds for a rehabilitation facility for the grey parrots that come to the centre. On the right you have a picture of a rehabilitated parrot and on the left the overcrowding and poor conditions in which they try to be illegally exported for the pet market. SOS Primates believes that keeping these animals at home is unethical and inappropriate for their welfare, not to mention contributing to the decline of their populations and their extinction. For this reason we have contacted a conscientious company that usually sponsors this type of initiative, but with the COVID-19 issue, they have stopped their scholarship programme.
If you know of any institution or entity to whom we could send the application, please do not hesitate to contact us here or privately info@sosprimates.org
